I’m not a recruitment agency, just helping out a friend. He works for one of the top Mobile Development companies in Toronto and they are hiring! (I’m only searching for local candidates - no exceptions)
They are looking for 50 new developers to hire, so be prepared to grow if you’re asked to join the team. I’ve been a corporate recruiter for the last 5 years, mostly in the IT sector, so let’s chat if you’re looking to work for an amazing company.
I’ve been by the offices and it really is one of the coolest places to work in Toronto. It has that start-up vibe, but these guys are big enough to have the resources to get things done. They’ve gone from one floor, to two and now three!
It’s an agile development shop focused on working with early stage Internet and mobile companies. They are backed by a leading group of technology and finance executives.
About you: You’re a developer with big aspirations to work on the next generation of applications for mobile devices (some devices that are out, and some not yet released).
You will launch apps on millions of mobile handsets that will be live in the manufacturer application stores (Apple App Store, BlackBerry App World, Android Market, etc.)
P.S. These guys are in the news on a weekly basis and the company is under 100 staff. I’ve seen them in the Globe & Mail, Financial Post, Profit 50, CMNA, etc.

Their portfolio of platforms includes:
- Android
- BlackBerry
- iOS (iPhone/iPad/iPod touch)
- Ruby on Rails

You’ll be responsible for:
- Developing new mobile apps
- Developing backend services on Ruby on Rails
- Releasing new versions of apps as new devices, OS’s and platforms are released to the marketplace
- Enhancing application performance, usability, memory use and application size
Required Skills and Experience:
- Must have at least 1-3 years experience in development on at least one of mobile, internet or desktop platforms
- Proficiency in at least one of Java, C++, Ruby
- Experience with UI design/graphics development is highly advantageous
- Must have real world experience with object oriented design and a clear understanding of object oriented design patterns
- Experience or interest in Agile software development practices and principles (e.g. TDD, Pair Programming, Refactoring, Continuous Integration…) a plus
- A degree in a computer-related field

P.S. I’m likely going to get more than a few resumes. Please be as clear as possible and demonstrate your experience working on mobile/internet applications. (If you can send me screen shots of your work and a paragraph explaining what you did would be great and go a long way)
Also rank yourself out of 10 (10 being highest) for your skills in Java, C++, Ruby. (Don’t worry about being good in all of them…)
