About Me
Leaders are Generalists, they know a little about a lot of things
While most guys were reading GQ and Sports Illustrated…I was reading Fortune Magazine…I was hooked!
I started off a really shy kid (kinda scrawny in fact), but it was a blessing in disguise. It all started when I was about 12 years old, my dad got me a book, the classic “How to make friends and influence people” by Dale Carnegie…I was forever changed after that.
I realized something then. Something so important that I still believe it to this day - any skill can be learnt.
Being shy comes with a lot of disadvantages…I wasn’t exactly the most popular kid growing up, but “Shy people often spend more time reading, learning, focusing, listening, observing and imagining” and man could I dream! :)
I eventually grew up…still kinda nerdy (I love reading). And my love affair with business has never ended….hence my quote above about Leaders…I’m a jack of all trades and not afraid to say it.
I watched the .com boom in agony…I was in Business School at the time in Canada and saw people my age making millions off having ‘eyeballs’ on the their page and no business plans! Eventually all those companies imploded, but it re-affirmed what I already knew…I’ve always wanted to be a business guy - how that plays out is anyones guess…
Hence this blog - I want to share just some of my thoughts on the world and what things I think are really cool that I hope you’ll like as well…
Ciao! :)
